Pampered Chef Ice Cream Scoops Recalled
According to news sources, a recall has been issued for Pampered Chef ice cream scoops after reports that the product can cause impact injury to consumers due to seals and caps that can potentially “fly off with substantial force”. The recalled product is an ice cream dipper that is filled with a non-toxic liquid that is intended to conduct heat from the hand to the handle to create easier ice cream scooping. Ice Cream Scoops Recalled Because of Impact Injury Hazard
In a news release , The Pampered Chef, in accordance with the guidelines of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced the voluntary recall of the company’s ice cream dippers due to a potential impact injury hazard they pose to consumers. Approximately 20,000 ice cream dippers, manufactured by the Zeroll Company, are affected by this recall. This safety recall was initiated after the company discovered that, when the liquid-filled scoop is exposed to warm water after being used, the cap and seal on the handle could pop off with significant force and strike consumers.
